Growing up on a volcanic island filled with folktales and adventure actively fed Stacey’s imagination. She wrote stories about giant possums living in mango trees and drew many pictures of what lurked in bougainvillea hedges.

After graduating from Ringing College of Art and Design with a degree in Illustration, Stacey used her skills to promote art education and literacy on her island and worked with different organizations such as Room to Read, UNDP and Harper Collins UK.

Stacey’s experiences working with children have inspired her to write and illustrate stories that all kids can enjoy. She has been awarded a Kweli 2021 Sing the Truth mentorship and is also a We Need Diverse Books 2022 finalist.
